hot hot hot

So, anyone want to come visit? Current temperature in my apartment is reaching 90 degrees. Yes that means my air conditioner is broken. Again. And my last two fish are probably going to die because I have no way to keep their tank cool. I’m kind of annoyed… mostly because it is almost July in the humid South, and my air conditioning is broken! Just like it was broken last Friday.

The gate is also still broken. It breaks all the time – because of sabotage, I’m pretty sure. The breaking means that people can piggyback off residents who scan their card to open the big iron gate, without having the wooden bar come crashing down on their car. It’s a bit disconcerting to know that someone is purposefully sabotaging this.

I’m in a foul mood today. Hormones I’m sure, coupled with being hot. And also tired. I got to bed around 2 last night, which is a great bedtime for me but not when I have to wake up at 7:30. :-p

Onto something more positive… I went to some friends’ house yesterday and it was great fun. Our families were good friends with them when we lived in Stone Mountain (I was in 2nd grade). I hadn’t seen them for four years, so it was fun to catch up again. We played Apples to Apples and Slap Uno (I think that’s what it was called anyways), both very fun. I haven’t played games in a long time… Not since I lived in Gerig. I need to get some more games – build up my collection. Scattergories is definitely a must… Apples to Apples and Phluxx are two close seconds. I already own Phase 10 and several decks of cards… Any others?

I also learned how to play another Mafia type game that I would love to teach to the Gerig lounge rats. It’s called Psychiatrist, and it sounds really fun. They said it’s best to play in a group of 15-20. I was thinking of all the rounds of Mafia we would play in Gerig – and that’s how I met Paul, with him arguing that he couldn’t be the Mafia because he didn’t have a beard.

Ah I feel better now. I’m getting excited about having people over and playing games. So far, Elisabeth is the only non-family to come visit my apartment, so ya’ll better catch up. ;-)

P.S. Oh sorry Mr. Garrison, did you want me to mention you by name? Ah okay, well I was visiting Joe and Meg Garrison and their daughter Susan who is my age-ish. :-)
